Oil is expected to reach the 4th pumping station on the Turkish territory in the course of the 10 days, then, after testing it will be send to the Ceyhan port. The first tanker from Ceyhan will be send at the end of this spring, the BP Azerbaijan president, David Woodword told Trend.

300.000 barrels of oil per day in average will be transported via BTC this year, Woodword said. Though, this figure is expected to grow by the end of the year.

Negotiations with the Turkish company Botas are continuing in order to solve a financial dispute. Talks are also held with the Kazakh exporters, BTC project participants. Terms and amounts of the oil loading to the pipeline are discussed with them. However, talks are also held with companies who are already extracting oil in Kazakhstan, he said. If the given agreement will be signed then the oil will be send to BTS from 2007.

However, it will depend on the quality of oil. The oil of worse than the BTC standard quality will not be allowed into the pipeline. An oil quality database has already been created and it will be applied to companies participating in the project.
