SOCAR increases delivery of gasoline to Singaporean company

Oil&Gas Materials 22 April 2006 12:13 (UTC +04:00)

Since the beginning of May the SOCAR intends to increase export of gasoline with octane figure of 92 to Georgia to 5,000 tons a week. At present under the contract with signed with the state company Saknafobtransi, Georgia receives less than this volume a week.

Georgia is currently assimilating the petrol supplied from other countries. Georgia has not offered us increase of petrol, as the country still has volumes purchased earlier. It is linked with high world prices and fuel and lubricants. The prices continue rising, the SOCAR said.

SOCARs plan on export of gasoline now comprises 45,000 tons. We cannot implement the plan by 100% due to low demand for this product in Georgia. Therefore, we have increased export of petrol to Iran, the SOCAR said.

According to an official of the SOCAR, in April Iran has shipped 4 tanks of gasoline (each comprising 4,300 tons). We suppose to ship 3 vessels more by the end of April. In December SOCAR signed a contract with Singaporean Petrofarm on delivery of 50,000-tons gasoline in 2006. Oil product will be shipped at FOB to pier 20 on the balance of Azneftyag Oil Refinery Plant. Petrofarm will deliver gasoline through the tankers of the Caspian Shipping Company to the Iranian Neka port.
