Gobustan Operating Company plans to increase export of vacant gas to SOCAR from Jul

Gobustan Operating Company (GOC), which is involved in the development of South-West Gobustan contract area, plans to increase the cost of the commercial vacant gas for Azerbaijan in July. It is planned to deliver 200,000-250,000 cu m of gas a day.

Rise in the delivery from 40,000 cu m to 250,000 a day will be possible at the expense of connecting the 4th well to the gas-transport system.

At present the GOC delivers gas from three wells in the amount of 40,000-45,000 cu m a day (some 1.3 million cu m of gas a month).

Commercial gas production started on 1 February 2006, Gas price is $1.33 per 1m BTU ($1.33 per 1m BTU - around $47.5 per 1,000 cu m). The gas transported from the Duvanniy field, which enters the South-Gobustan contract area.

The SOCAR said that 5 wells will be connected to gas distribution network by autumn and it will enable to the volume of gas for sale will be increase to 350,000 cu m.

Participants in Gobustan Operating Company do not exclude that the gas prices can be increased in the perspective on the background of increase of this figure in CIS countries.
