Azerenerji AO reportedly decided to build a new dual fuel module power plant in Sangachal, said Marlen Askerov, vice-president, Azerenerji AO.
In general, the project includes installation of 20 Wartsila-made modules with production output 17.5MW each.
Some time ago Azerenerji specialists familiarized with operation of module power plants in Turkey.
Since Azerenerji does not want to depend on one type of fuel it plans to build such a plant to consume both black oil and gas.
New power plant will supply power to the republics common system, Askerov said.
At the moment said Finnish company already builds five 90MW module plants in Azerbaijan. One already completed in Astara, two more plants under construction in Khachmaz and Sheki and two to be constructed in Nakhchivan and Baku.
