We are going to talk to Azerbaijan International Operating Company on raising amount of petroleum gas passed to Azerbaijan from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field, Trend quotes Natik Aliyev, minister of industry and energy of Azerbaijan.
This year Azerbaijan will receive 2.2bn m3 of gas, next year 1.4bn. The rest of gas will be injected in wells, said minister.
In early 2006 SOCAR already attempted to obtain additional gas from AIOC, but the latter raised the question of compensating lost oil as a result of less gas injection. The gas injection started in May 2006 on central Azeri.
