Azerbaijan awaits gas import conditions toughening in 2007 minister

Next year Azerbaijan will be purchasing gas from Russia on tougher terms than today, said Natik Aliyev, minister of industry and energy of Azerbaijan.

At the moment Azeri delegation is in Russia talking on this matter. The delegation is headed by Yagub Eyyubov, first vice-premier of Azeri government. SOCAR in delegation I represented by its vice-president Elshad Nasirov.

The gas supplier for Azerbaijan is Russian monopolist Gazprom. In 2005 gas was delivered at $60 per 1k m3. Starting 2006, it already costs Azerbaijan $110.
