AIOC restored oil production in Chirag field

The production of oil from the platform Chirag in Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea was renewed, Trend reports with reference to BP-Azerbaijan, which is the operator of Azerbaijan International Operation Company (AIOC). At the moment, around 150 thousand barrels of oil are produced daily. Up to the stop, this indicator differed between 140-145 th. barrels a day.

According to the information provided by the same company, it was decided to change the components of the battery system in the platform. These works had to be realized earlier. However, on Friday the platform was stopped for technical reasons and therefore a decision was made to change the components now so that it works in uninterrupted duty in the future, told by the company.

The energy supply was stopped on July 14 and restored on July 15. It had no impact on the production of oil in other platforms Central Azeri and Western Azerbaijan, exportation of oil through pipelines and the work in Sangachal terminal.

In January-May, AIOC produced 3.703 mln tones of oil in Chirag field. In June 2006, the oil production was reported at 618.853 thousand tones.
