Oil and oil products transit via Makhachkala terminal in June totaled 450k ton compared to 295.6k ton in May, people familiar with the situation told Trend.
The most of Makhachkala transit is oil delivered by tankers from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. Kazakh suppliers transshipped 287k ton of oil in June.
During the first half-year, Makhachkala terminal transshipped a bit over 2mln ton of oil and oil products compared to 1.998mln ton in January-June 2005.
Last year, 4.02mln ton was transshipped through the terminal compared to 3.96mln ton in 2004. Three moorings in Makhachkala enable receiving tankers of up to 10k ton. The terminal design capacity is nearly 8mln ton a year.
