Turkish company states on readiness of Turkish section of SCP for exploitation in Oct-Nov
Turkish company BOTAS has stated on its readiness to commission the South Caucasus pipeline (SCP) by October-November 2006, David Woodward, the President of BP Azerbaijan, sated to a news conference on 21 July, Trend reports.
According to Woodward, after the announcement of accomplishment of the construction, Turkey will receive gas from the Shah Daniz. However, there are still risks with delay in the project Woodward emphasized.
This year it is planned to lift 1.2 billion cu m of gas. In accordance with the agreement on purchase signed earlier, 670 million cu m of this volume falls on Azerbaijan, 60 million cu m
of gas Georgia, 470 million cu m Turkey. The contract with BTC Co has not been signed yet, whereas the pipeline company is s expected to supply 40 million cu m of fuel, Woodward underlined.
He noted that in case of delay in the commissioning of the project due to incompleteness of the Turkish section, the gas volumes to be supplied to this country can be distributed among other potential buyers.
