Russian gas giant ceases gas export to Azerbaijan

A set of prophylactic and repair work in the Makat-North Caucasus and Mozdok-Kazimahommed gas mains resulted in cessation of fuel delivery to Azerbaijan by Gasexport (a daughter company of Gasprom), the SOCAR told Trend.

Work in the territory of Dagestan is carried out Kaspiygasprom company. Along with Azerbaijan Delivery has been ceased to some cities and regions of Dagestan.

In January to June Gasexport has delivered 2,325,6 million cu m of gas to Azerbaijan against 2.6 billion cu m in the first half-year of last year.

In June 2006 the volume of deliveries by the company comprised 325.6 million cu m of gas. In June 2005 a total 367.1 million m of gas was delivered to Azerbaijan.

This year the SOCAR plans to purchase some 4.5 billion cu m of gas from Gasexport at the price of $110 per 100 cu m.
