Repair works to be carried out in oil-producing field of BP

Within the project of upgrading Chirag platform, it is planned in October to stop the activity of the platform for tens days, Trend reports quoting BP-Azerbaijan operator of the project for development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields.

During these works for improving the effectiveness and reliability of the platform, there will be changed installation for gas dehydration, increased the volume of pumping water into layers and held technical maintenance of equipments.

Earlier, the company unexpectedly stopped the activity of the platform to change the components of battery system in the platform.

According to assessments of the company, within a year, the average production from Chirag is 141 thousand barrels. At the moment, 20 wells are exploited in Chirag platform. In the first half of the year, the production in the platform is reported at about 27.5 mln barrels. Since the beginning of the production in November 1997, around 358 mln barrels of oil were produced from Chirag field.
