SOCAR closed tender for August oil sale from Novorossiysk

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has closed the tender for sale of 209k ton of Ural oil from port Novorossiysk in August. SOCAR officials told Trend the oil would be shipped in two loads; one of them, 131k ton, is shipped August 28-29 by purchaser, Glencore. The second load, 78k ton, is shipped August 30-31 by Select Energy.

Last months SOCAR shipped 60k ton of oil a month via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline as AIOC pumped ACG Group partners oil via the line (apart from Exxon and Devon). Following BTC pipeline commissioning, some amount of this oil was withdrawn to this route.

In 2005 SOCAR shipped 1.631mln ton of oil from Novorossiysk compared to 2.559mln ton in 2004.

Starting 2006 SOCARs oil in Novorossiysk purchased the following companies:

January Glencore (85 k ton);

February Taurus Petroleum (140 k ton);

February - Glencore (60 k ton);

May - Glencore (60 k ton);

June - Glencore (60 k ton);

July - Glencore (60 k ton);

August - Glencore (131 k ton);

August Select Energy (78 k ton).
