Azenergy JSC is to construct a news electric power station in Sangachal in the near-term outlook, the company`s press service told Trend referring to Marlen Askerov, its Vice-President. An area has already been allotted for this project.

A module electric power station according to a Finnish Warstila Companys high-powered module electric power stations is expected to be constructed. Totally 20 modules (the productive capacity is 7, 5 MW each) are expected to be installed within the project. The multimode power of the power station will be 340-350 MW.

Despite the very difficult system of switching, a gas-mazut principle is very prospective from the point of view of two power supply availability. Azenergy JSC is to construct this module power station in Sangachal in the Absheron peninsula to supply Baku and the peninsula.

Earlier Azenergy`s specialists got acquainted with the functioning of such module power stations working on mazut and gas in Turkey. The Finnish Warstila constructed such power stations in Turkey.

Azenergy does not want to depend only on one kind of fuel during power generating. That is why today the company plans to construct such a power station which would consume mazut and gas.

At present the Finnish company has already implemented the construction of five module electric power stations in Azerbaijan with 90 MW power each. The construction of one of them has completed in Astara. The two other ones are installed in Khachmaz and Shaki, and other two will be constructed in Nakhchivan and Baku.
