Oil production in Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block has increased by two times

In January-July, Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) exploiting the block of the marine fields Azer-Chirag-Gunashli produced 12.014 mln tones of Azeri Light oil, which is more by 5.975 mln tones as comprised to the same period of 2005. The increasing of the production is justified through the issue that it was started to produce oil from the central part of Azeri field in February of last year and in January of 2006 reserve parts of Azeri.

In January-July 2006, the oil production from the Chirag field was reported at 4.261 mln against 4 mln 0.74.7 thousand tones in January-July of 2005, Trend reports quoting AIOC. In January-July 2006, 7.753 mln tones of oil were produced for Azeri field, against 1 mln 990.3 thousand in January-July 2005.

In July 2006, the gross volume of the oil produced by AIOC was reported at 1.972 mln tones against 963.5 mln 2005. In July 2006, 557.292 thousand tones of oil were produced in Chirag field, against 582.8 t. in July 2005. And the oil production in Azeri field in July 2006 was estimated at 1.415 mln t., against 437.7 th. in July 2005
