SOCAR Defines Export Volume of Azeri oil for BTC in September

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend that it has defined the volume of Azeri Light oil cargo to from the Eyhan Port in September.

Oil produced from the Azeri-Chra-Gunashli oil fields will be delivered to port via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan export oil pipeline.

In September the SOCAR will ship a total of 215,000 tons of oil via two tankers. Thus, 80,000 tons (600,000 barrels) of crude will sold through tender, which is to be announced shortly, while 135,000 tons (1 million barrels) of oil (the so-called cost oil) will be sold to traders (Glencore and Select Energy Trading) on the base of a long-term contract.

In July the SOCAR exported from Ceyhan its first oil cargo in the volume of1 million barrels to the Norwegian Statoil. In July 2006 the oil transportation via BTC totaled 787,000 tons against 422,900 tons in June 2006
