Georgian side started to return the electric energy debts to Azerbaijan, Trend reports with reference to the press-service of Azerenerji JSC.
Georgia will return nearly 17 mln kilowatt-hours electric power to Azerbaijan. This debt had remained for the electric power delivered in 1990s. Georgian side has already returned approximately 15 mln kilowatt-hours out of gross 32 mln electric power. The remaining 17 mln kilowatt-hours will be returned in the future.
At the moment, Georgia delivers about 1 mln kilowatt-hours electric power to Azerbaijan a day. Thus, the full returning of the debt is intended for the beginning of September.
The sides have signed a new agreement on the cooperation of energy departments in emergency situations.
