JBIC is interested in projects for increasing capacity of transport corridor for exporting Kazakh oil to world market through Azerbaijan

The prospects of the co-operation between the state Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) were discussed during the meeting between the president of SOCAR Rovnak Abdullayev and delegation of the Bank, Trend reports quoting the statement of SOCAR.

It was stated in the document that during the meeting, general manager of the bank Yoshirikho Kumagaya informed about the projects attended by JBIC in the Caspian region, and voiced his desire to establish cooperation with SOCAR.

JBIC shows an interest in the projects for increasing the capacity of the transport corridor for exporting Kazakh oil to the world market through Azerbaijan, Kumagaya told.

Rovnak Abdullayev positively assessed the proposal of JBIC and supported the desire of Japanese bank to invest in Azerbaijan.

The head of SOCAR remembered SOCARs receiving syndicated credit totaling $750 million, and signing of new credit agreement for financing the share of the country in the project Shah Deniz.
