SOCAR to Increase Its Gas Production on 1b. Cubic Meters

As results of 2006, the volume of the gas production from the gas deposits developed by the State Oil Company (SOCAR) is expected to be raised to 1 bln. cubic meters versus 2005, Rovnag Abdullayev, SOCAR President told Trend. In 2005, SOCAR produced 3,930.6 mln. cubic meters of gas. 3,824 mln. at the joint-stock companies and operation companies.

Next year SOCAR is about to increase its gas production on 2 bln. cubic meters. That will become possible after the implementation of the gas program. The construction of two compressor stations on the deposits Neft Dashlari (Oil Stones) and Gunashli is envisaged within this program. In addition, the mainlaying with the total length of 53 km aimed at gas of high and less pressure is envisaged by the program as well.

The winner of the tender on the construction of the gas compressor stations to boost gas

of less pressure on the field Gunashli and its transportation to the coast was the American company Forgel Finance LTD.

According to the agreement, the delivery of all the necessary equipment will be carried out during the period November 2006 to April 2007

Within the project, the construction of the underwater gas pipe of a total length of 20 km. and the diameter of 500 mm. is expected as well. This pipeline will be laid from the platform Gunashli-4 to the field Neft Dashlari. The delivery of the pipes needed to construct the pipeline will be carried out by Germany company MAN. The direct offshore pipe-laying will be carried out by the American company McDermott.
