Azeri Parliament Ratified Agreement with Kazakhstan on Transportation of Kazakh Oil through Azerbaijan

On October 2, the Azerbaijani Parliament ratified the Agreement between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan on the support for transportation of Kazakh oil to the international market through the Caspian Sea with the help of the system located in the territory of Azerbaijan and creation of appropriate conditions, Trend reports.

The agreement between the two countries had been signed by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

In the first stage, Kazakhstan intends to transport 5 million tons of oil through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, and in the future nearly 40 mln tons of fuel may be transported through the territory of Azerbaijan.

In the first stage, the oil will be delivered to Azerbaijan with tankers through Caspian Sea, and later an appropriate pipeline may be constructed.
