Italy stated once again on its interest in purchasing of Azerbaijani gas. The issue was discussed in Baku on September 20, in a first meeting of the Azerbaijani-Italian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, Trend reports.
Particularly, Italy's Edison and other oil companies took interests in it. At the end of the meeting it was decided to define the companies' need in gas.
The possibilities for use of gas transit systems of Turkey and Greece should be studied for the transportation of the natural gas from the Caspian region. The construction of gas pipelines in the directions of Turkey-Greece and Greece-Italy, which will be used in future for the transportation of the Azerbaijani gas, should be kept under control.
