On December 19, the Association of Young Lawyers, a non-governmental organization, will present the results of monitoring of the Public Observation Grant Project, signed between BTC Co. and Government of Georgia, Trend Special Correspondent reports.
The meeting will research the expediency of the use of $40mln grant by Georgia.
An agreement on establishment of a new grant program for Georgia was signed in October 2004 between BTC Co and the Government of Georgia. BTC Co, operated by BP, is a company, which is involved in the construction project and exploitation of the Baku Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
Grants are allocated for the support of the Government priorities in socio-economic development during the critical period until revenues from the oil pipeline attain their maximum.
