Iran and Azerbaijan Hold Interaction of Electric Power

Presently Iran is transferring nearly 10-12 mVt electric power to Azerbaijan per day. The Vice President of Azerenergy Joint-Stock Company, Marlen Askerov, informed Trend that in its turn, Azerbaijan will return the debts to Iran for the electric power provided to Nakchivan Autonomous Republic.

The electric power is delivered via electric lines Astara (Iran)-Astara (Azerbaijan)-Parsabad (Iran)-Imishli (Azerbaijan).

Azerbaijan and Iran signed a contract on the work of the energy systems of the two countries in a parallel regime from December 1 2006.

This contract envisages Azerbaijan receiving 600-700 kVt electric power in a month during winter, and returning the same volume during summer.
