Rovnag Abdulayev, the President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), said that gas is not expected to be produced from Azerbaijan offshore gas condensate field Shahdaniz in the beginning of 2007. That is explained with technical problems in one of the wells on the field, therefore the negotiations on redistribution of Turkey-s gas share to Georgia and Azerbaijan have been postponed to January, 2007, Trend reports.
According to him, Azerbaijan could sell gas to Georgia at the same price which is considered for Turkey.
The price will be $120 per 1000 cubic meters, said Mr. Abdulayev.
