BP Azerbaijan Holds Investigation to Define Technical Problems in Shah Deniz

Presently the specialists of BP Azerbaijan are conducting investigation for defining the technical problems in the first advance bore in Shah Deniz field and the ways of their settlement, Trend reports with reference to the Company.

After these work is completed, the period and action on resolving these problems will be defined, the same source said.

The production in the well was stopped by the Company to carry out precautionary measures to follow the technical security. According to the representatives of the Company, such problems should be considered as natural due to the launch of the large-scale project such as Shah Deniz.

The gas production in the first well began on December 15. The average daily production in the first well equals 5,6 mln cu.m of gas and 2,500 tons of gas condensate.

Within the Phase 1 project, 8,6 bln cu.m of gas will be produced from Shah Deniz annually. In 2007, 5,4-5,6 bln cu.m of gas will be produced from Shah Deniz.
