A total of 14,580 tons of bitumen was produced in Azerbaijan in December 2006. This is an increase of 97% from the forecast equaling 7,180 tons of bitumen, Trend reports with reference to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan.
Over January-December 2006, 161,940 tons of bitumen has been produced in Azerbaijan, with an increase of 56.5% from the forecast, equaling 58,440 tons, the same source stated.
In 2005 the bitumen production comprised 128,340, an increase of 33,600 tons (26.2%) over 2006.
