GazpromExport LLC (a subsidiary of Russian gas giant Gazprom) exported 4.48 bln. cubic meters to Azerbaijan last year versus 4.54 bln. cubic meters in 2005, a source in SOCAR informed Trend. It was just SOCAR who bought gas from Russia.
Since Azerbaijan began importing gas from Russia (2000), the country received 25.74 bln. cubic meters of gas.
In 2006, Azerbaijan received gas from Russia at the price of $110 per 1.000 cubic meters. The gas was piped into the country via the Shirvanovka-Gazi-Mahammad Pipeline.
Since January 1, 2007, due to the disagreement in the gas prices, Russia has suspended its gas export to Azerbaijan.
