The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) takes a number of technical and geological measures to support the present volumes of the production and possible increase of the oil and gas production. For this purpose, a plan of measures had been prepared at the beginning of 2006, Trend reports quoting the SOCAR. Last year, 864 geological measures were taken, against planned 701 measures, and additional 594,645 tons of oil was produced (against planned 260,167 tons).
In 2006, 4,914 technical measures were taken (against planned 4174) and in result, 107,698 tons of oil was produced (against planned 95,387 tons).
