The President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Rovnag Abdullayev, said that this year Azerbaijan will receive 3 bln cu.m of associated gas from Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) free of charge, within full development of the fields of Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli.
Presently Azerbaijan is delivers more than 8 mln cu.m of gas per day. 7 mln of that is delivered from Sangachal Oil Terminal and 1,2 mln from Oil Stones.
Earlier it was intended that the volume of the associated gas delivered to Azerbaijan from Azeri Chirag-Gunashli will equal 1,4 bln cu.m. BP injects the associated gas produced form the field to the layer to support the pressure. If its part is delivered to Azerbaijan, the volume of injected gas will be decreased and as a result the oil production from the field will decrease. AIOC has already raised a question of compensating the lost volumes of oil. SOCAR does not intend to compensate this volume.
