The Director General of the Oil and Gas Production Unit Azneft of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Shahin Ismaylov, said 117 wells returned from the inactive fund to the exploitation fund.
In 2006 the Production Unit realized 1,438 capital and 42,618 current repairs which lead to increase in production. As a result of the capital repair works, additional 676,670 tons of oil have been produced last year, an increase of 154,870 from 2005.
In 2006, the Unit carried out 4,914 technical and 864 geological measures, which led to the increase of oil production.
