Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas Company intends to attract international experts and investigate the reasons for delay in oil production from Kashagan field, a TrendCorrespondent in Astana reports.

"The company has serious claims on the contractor with respect to the sharp rise in expenses and progress in the schedule of oil production from Kashagan field, the President of KazMunayGas National Oil and Gas Company, Uzakbay Karabalin, stated in his address to the Board at a meeting at Holding Samruk.

"To clarify the reasons for such an outcome, we set up a private investigation through attracting independent internally renowned consultants. The results will be reported to Samruk and the Government, Mr. Karabalin stressed.

He informed that so far the Kashagan field development has been implemented by 60%.

Several participants of the Kashagan field undertook a responsibility for oil deliveries via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan export oil pipeline.
