Azerbaijan May Study Geotechnical Data of a Section of Kazakhstan's Caspian Sector

The laboratory research of the data received as a result of the works carried out by an Azerbaijani-Holland Joint-Stock Enterprise, AzeriFugro in Kazakhstan, is likely to be conducted in Azerbaijan, a source in the Company told Trend.

The Kazakhstan party previously made a decision on establishing the analogous laboratory in their own country. They were expected to interpreter the data received just in their own laboratory. This decision is currently being reviewed.

The geotechnical works were carried out by the order of Agip KCO in Kazakhstan's sector of the Caspian Sea. The works were carried offshore not far from the Kazakhstan City of Atyrau for about two years.

AzeriFugro conducted researches of the engineering properties of the bottom, as well as geophysical works considered for laying a pipeline from an artificially-constructed island to the coast. The drilling of the geotechnical wells was carried out from a barge belongs to Kazakhstan.
