Redistributing Turkish Gas Quota in Shah-Daniz Field with Georgia Can Lead to Some Financial Changes

Oil&Gas Materials 13 February 2007 20:12 (UTC +04:00)

Redistributing Turkish quota of the gas to be produced from Azerbaijan offshore gas condensate field, Shah-Daniz with Georgia requires changing a great number of documents that will lead to financial changes, Trend reports.

Natig Aliyev, Azerbaijan Industry and Energy Minister, said today that the financial changes can lead to the loss of one of the three parties.

They should settle this issue. If Turkey wants to hand its gas (produced from Shah-Daniz Field) over to Georgia in 2007, then a mechanism is to be found. This mechanism will stipulate Georgia paying and compensating this fuel said the Azerbaijan Minister.

Nikalos Gilauri, Georgia Energy Minister previously said that Georgia wanted to pay the debt for the gas to Turkey at the expense of its electric power supplies to this country.
