BP Azerbaijan Publicizes Daily Oil Production from ACG

BP Azerbaijan informed Trend that current total daily production rate of BP is over 700,000 barrels per day and in 2007 they are planning to produce 708,000 barrels per day average from the four platforms in total for the full year.

Of this, 141,000 barrels per day is expected to come from Chirag, 257,000 barrels per day from Central Azeri, 168,000 barrels per day from West Azeri and 142,000 barrels per day from East Azeri.

Of the 472,000 barrel total daily average production number 142,000 barrels came from Chirag, 223,000 barrels from Central Azeri, 96,000 barrels from West Azeri and 11,000 barrels from the East Azeri platform.

Chirag currently has 20 wells (14 oil producers and 6 water injectors). It is now producing around 150,000 barrels per day. From the start of production in November 1997 to the end of 2006, Chirag had produced over 382 million barrels (over 51 million tonnes) of oil.

Central Azeri (CA) has 13 wells (11 oil producers and 2 gas injectors). CA is currently producing around 250,000 barrels per day. From the start of production in February 2005 to the end of 2006, CA had produced over 127 million barrels (over 17 million tonnes).

West Azeri (WA) has 6 wells which all are oil producers. WA is currently producing around 170,000 barrels per day. From the start-up of production in early January 2006 to the end of 2006, the platform had produced 35 million barrels (4.7 million tonnes) of oil.

East Azeri (EA) started oil production in October 2006 four months ahead of schedule completing Phase 2 of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field development in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea. It is currently producing around 130,000 barrels per day from three out of the eight pre-drilled wells. The company expect production to increase through 2007 as the other pre-drilled wells are brought online, prior to platform drilling commencing this year. On plateau, the EA facility will produce 260,000 barrels per day, bringing total Azeri production, including West and Central Azeri, to over 800,000 barrels per day.
