Marlen Asgarov, the Vice-President of Azerenerji JSC said that the Company is expected to put into operation a new module electric power station with the capacity of 104 MWatt in Baku very soon. In addition, a combined-cycle plant with the capacity of 517 MWatt which will have no analogues among CIS countries will be put into use in Sumgayit, Trend reports referring to the Press-Service of the Joint-Stock Company.

Azernerji is expected to complete the construction of a 220 KW substation in Salyan this year. This facility will not only allow improving the energy supply of the Region, but also create favorable conditions to increase electric power flow between Iran and Azerbaijan from the existing 200 MWatt to 700 Mwatt. That will also allow improving the electric supply to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.

Over 400 km of high-voltage electric power transmission lines are expected to be laid in 2007. Eight substations: two with the capacity of 330 KWatt, two 220 KWatt, and four 110 Kwatt, with the total capacity of 2000 MWatt are expected to be installed this year as well.
