Azerbaijan, Baku /corr Trend S.Aliyev / Azerbaijan needs a special program transition to international standards. The Azerbaijani Minister for Industry and Energy, Natik Aliyev, made this statement in a meeting with the Secretary General of the International Standardization Organization (ISO), Alan Brider. An idea was supported by the ISO head.
The meeting discussed the exiting situation with the transition to international standards in Azerbaijan, as well as prospects and further expansion of cooperation. In particular, Brider took interest in the situation in industry and energy, oil and gas sector of Azerbaijan.
Aliyev noted Azerbaijan had began cooperating with the world companies since 1993 and application of international standards. Azerbaijan is continuing studying world experience in the sphere of standardization.
At present time there are around 100 ISO standards.
