Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Aliyev / Oil and Gas Production Unit "Azneft" of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) intends to implement exploration seismology in its fields at the end of the year, SOCAR reports.
At present Caspian Geophysical JV and SOCAR's Geophysics and Geology Department carry out the preparation work. In particular negotiations are held with regards to the vessel that may be involved in conducting exploration seismology in SOCAR's fields. SOCAR intends to hold exploration seismology in the fields of "Bulla", "Bahar" and the shallow waters of "Guneshli".
According to the representatives of SOCAR, oil reserves have been discovered while drilling a well in the northern shallow waters of "Gunashli" field, the border of which has not been defined yet.
Caspian Geophysical JV was created by SOCAR in 1994.
