Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / High-ranking representative of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said that the preparatory measure for signing transport agreement with Kazakhstan with regards to Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline is under way.
Earlier Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan had signed an Inter-Governmental Agreement on joint oil transportation via BTC. The transport agreement will mainly define the conditions of oil delivery from Kazakhstan to Baku.
"As the oil transportation from Kazakhstan via BTC will begin no earlier than 2010, it does not to hurry in signing the agreement. Azerbaijan expects to, by 2010-2012, transport the first oil produced from Kazakh field of Kashagan.
