Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Aliyev / At the present time approximately 5,000-7,000 tons of mazut is delivered to power grids in Azerbaijan per day. The entire volume of mazut manufactured at the local oil refinery enterprises is supplied to power stations, a government source informed.
Since 1 January 2007, Azerbaijan has switched to mazut. In January some 10,000 tons of mazut was supplied for electricity production. At the present time gas stored at gas reservoirs is being used. During the autumn-winter period over 1bln cu m of gas was pumped into reservoirs.
Since 1 January, Russian gas supply to Azerbaijan has been stopped completely.
