Oil&Gas Materials 29 March 2007 11:34 (UTC +04:00)

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Aliyev / The Azerbaijani Minister for Energy Azerbaijan intends to hold talk with BP Azerbaijan to continue its associated gas delivery from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields at a level of 7 - 8 mln cu m a day in 2007.

In the first quarter of 2007 Azerbaijan is to receive over 8 mln cu m of gas a day from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields. Of the volume received previously, a total of 7 mln cu m is delivered from Sangachal oil terminal and 1.2 mln from Oil Rocks.

Earlier, the total delivery of associated gas lifted from ACG was expected to reach 1.4 bln cu m, or 4 mln cu m a day, in 2007 and this gas was given to Azerbaijan without any compensation.

ВР pumps the associated gas produced from the fields to the layers to maintain the stratum pressure. The volume of pumping might decrease and cause a drop in oil production from the fields, if part of the production is given to Azerbaijan.
