Azerbaijan Continues Gas Export to   Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi / corr. Trend N.Kirskhalia / The volume of imported Azerbaijani gas into Georgia, as previously, equals 2.3 mln cu.m per day. Of this, 1 mln cu.m. is delivered to Georgia via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline and 1.3 mln cu.m via the old pipelines from internal reserves of Azerigaz, Trend Special Correspondent in Tbilisi reports.

According to information obtained from the Oil Georgia, details of the new agreement regulating the future deliveries will be discussed in Baku during the visit of the Georgian Prime Minister, Zurab Nogaideli, to Azerbaijan. Negotiations will also be attended by the Minister of Energy, Nika Gilauri and Director-General of the Oil

Earlier Gilauri had stated that 1.3 mln cu.m of gas from Azerbaijan would continue on the basis of the contract until 1 April, adding that negotiations are being held to extend the contract. "A new well will be put into operation on the Shah Deniz field and the share of gas received by Georgia will increase accordingly," he said.
