Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr. S. Aliyev/ Azerbaijani has finalized gas supplies to Georgia within the agreement, previously signed with "Azerigaz" CJSC. It has been reported that Georgia has received over 100 mln. cu m of blue fuel. The price of the gas which Georgia has received was $120 per 1,000 cu m.

The need for Azerbaijan to continue supplying Georgia with gas is currently being discussed between the two parties. Since January 2007 to the end of May, 2007, Georgia received 1.3 mln. of gas per day via the old pipeline, Baku-Tbilisi and approximately 1 mln. cu m of blue fuel, produced from the Azerbaijani offshore gas condensate field of Shah-Deniz via SCP (South Caucasian Gas Pipeline) since February, 2007.

The guaranteed volume of gas, which Georgia is to receive from Shah-Deniz at the price of $63 per 1,000 cu m of gas, will reach 250 mln. cu m in 2007. The additional gas volumes and their further prices are subjects of further negotiations between Azerbaijan and Georgia.

About 962 mln. cu m of gas is needed to provide the Georgian population with gas until the end of 2007. Should Azerbaijan resume supplying Georgia with about 2.5 mln. cu m a day, this will fully cover the demand and Georgia even could reject the need to import Russian gas.
