Operating Company Reduced Oil Production in March, 2007 by Over 2%

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Aliyev/ The volume of oil production of the operating company "Salyan Oil" in March, 2007 produced 27,429 tonnes of oil. This figure is a reduction by 2.2 % compared to their registered production in the corresponding period of 2006, a source in the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said today. On the whole, starting from 2007, the operating company has produced 78,570 tonnes of oil.

The operating company, producing oil from the onshore deposit of Kyursangi-Garabaghli, is currently continuing drilling of a well in the contracted area. The projected depth of the well is 3500 metres.

During the company's holding in December, 2006, the budget for the works to be carried out in 2007 was proposed to be $43mln. On the whole, in 2007, the company is expected to drill five wells. All of them are to be exploratory. The projected depth of each well is expected to reach 3500 metres.
