Baku Jacket Plant’s Construction Capacities to Be Returned to SOCAR

Aliyev / By the end of 2007, the Baku Heydar Aliyev Jacket Plants is expected to complete the installation of jackets and top constructions for platforms within the project of the full-scale development of bloc of fields of Azeri-Chiragh-Gunashli (ACG) by the order made by BP, the operator of the projects. As Trend has been told in the Government of the Country, after that all construction areas will be returned to the balance of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). Notably, the Plant itself belongs to SOCAR.

In the beginning of this week, the Enterprise has shipped a jacket considered for the platform to be installed on the deep-water section of the offshore field of Gunashli. By the end of 2007, the construction of another jacket and two top constructions for the platforms installed on the same section of the deposit.

Notably, the construction of jackets is carried out by Bos Shelf, upper top constructions - by McDermott.

On the whole, ithin the project of the full-scale development of bloc of fields of Azeri-Chiragh-Gunashli (ACG), the Plant has built six platforms- two considered for "Central Azeri", one considered for "West Azeri" and "East Azeri" each, and two - for the deep-water section of Gunashli.

Resuming the corresponding construction works are expected to be not later than 2009. The forthcoming works may concern both the second stage of the implementation of the development of Azerbaijani gas condensate deposit of Shah-Daniz and other new projects.
