Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / The Supervisory Board of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promoting Fund (AZPROMO) has postponed the formation of the alliance of oil services exporters.

Emil Mejidov, the president of AZPROMO, reported on 13 April that at the initial stage the Azerbaijani oil services would be exported to the Kazakhstan market due to a large demand.

"Formal beginning will depend on the situation in Kazakhstan. We will set up five or six companies. Some of them have already begun their activities; the other ones have good prospects at the Kazakhstan market. The alliance of oil services exporters will be formed on their basis," Mejidov said.

Implementation of several oil projects in Azerbaijan by foreign companies will be complete soon. So, highly experienced man power could be dispatched to Kazakhstan.

There are a number of local companies, which are the sub-contractors of BP company. They have good skills and international certificates in oil services field.

"Our purpose is to supply them to the Kazakhstan market and onwards to other oil producing countries. We consider the project to be very prospective and interesting one," the director stated.

The possibility of oil services export to the country was discussed during the visit of Azerbaijani delegation headed by the Minister for Economic Development, Heydar Babayev, to Kazakhstan at the end of 2006.
