Azerbaijan Kazakhstan to Establish Joint Venture on Marine Operation Services

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The Governor of Mangista region of Kazakhstan, Krimbey Kusherbayev, said in Baku that Teniz-Service TOO of Kazmunaygaz JSC has offered to create Azerbaijani-Kazakh Joint Venture on Marine Operations Services.

" Azerbaijan has a wide experience in this sphere," he said. At present the service companies functioning in Azerbaijan carry out the delivery of several equipment for oil production projects on the Kashagan field. "There is a necessity for the services of the Azerbaijani companies in other projects because the infrastructure for oil production is planned to be created in Kazakhstan. Nearly $80 bln is required to create such an infrastructure," he said. According to him, the Agreement on creating the Azerbaijani-Kazakh Joint Venture on Marine Operations Services is planned to be signed in May.

In addition, the delegation of Kazakhstan headed by the Governor of Mangistau region, Krimbey Kusherbayev, which is on a visit to Azerbaijan made the suggestions to the Government of Azerbaijan regarding the delivery of the drilling rigs and considering the possibilities to create a joint venture for their co-operation. The joint venture is intended to be organized in the special economic zone territory created in Aktau Port.
