Azerbaijan, Trend corr / British Petroleum company (BP), the technical operator of the Shahdeniz project, have changed the date set for putting into operation the wells in the field.
The company will put into exploitation the fourth advanced well, and the third one afterwards. BP will restore the operation at the first well, which experienced a gas leakage.
Four wells were drilled at the field within the framework of the advanced drilling program. The first well was put into exploitation on 15 December. However, the operation was suspended due to a gas leakage. Special grout used to resolve the problems proved to be useless and the solution was postponed by the summer of 2007.
The second well is under current exploitation with 5.1mln cu m per 24 hour discharge of gas and 12,000 barrels discharge of condensate.
