Azerenerji to Commission Construction of Module Power Grid in Sangachal

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Aliyev / Marlen Asgarov, the Azerenerji Vice President, reported on 30 April said that Azerenerji has completed the replacement of the refugees and internally displaced people from the territory of the future module power grid in Sangachal. The construction will commence in the near future.

Azerenerji Joint-Stock Company and Finnish company Wartsila signed a contract on the construction of a new module power grid in Sumgayit with the capacity of 300MW. By the end of the year it is planed to put into exploitation three new module power grids. The rest modules will be commissioned in 2008.

The Swiss-Swedish company ABB will also play a part in the construction work. The construction work is scheduled to be completed by September 2008.

Wartsila presented new technology on switching the module power station in Sangachal from gas to mazut and vise versa to intensify the process. Earlier the company proposed the transition for 24 hours. Currently it takes 30 minutes.

The construction of energy generating power in Sangachal is needed for high quality and uninterrupted electricity provision of the Absheron peninsular.
