Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr. S. Aliyev/ Department for Drilling Works "Absheron" of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has proposed the drilling of an exploratory well on the perspective onshore area of Tyurkan, a source in SOCAR has said today. The projected depth of the forthcoming well reaches 3800 meters.
SOCAR is viewing the possibility of drilling two exploratory wells on Tyurkan. The drilling of the second well is expected to take place this year.
"The preparation for carrying out this work has already been begun," said the SOCAR representative.
One of the future wells is expected to be 3800 meters deep, the other, 4000 meters. The daily production rate is expected to reach 40-50 tons of oil. The appraisal of reserves on the project will be conducted as soon as the research is concluded.
