Azerbaijan Increased Light Crude Production on 4.5 Mln. Tons in January-April 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend / From January to April, 2007, AIOC (Azerbaijan International Operating Company), which is engaged in developing the offshore block of oil fields of Azeri-Chiragh-Gunashli (ACG), produced 10.9 mln. tons of crude branded Azeri Light oil.

This figure is 4.5 mln. tons more than that registered through the same period last year. A source in AIOC has said today that in January-April, 2007, the oil production on the Deposit of Chiragh reached 2,335,00 tons of oil against 2,442,000 tons produced in the same period of 2006. In the reporting period, the oil production from the field of Azeri reached 8,493,000 tons against 3,927,000 tons produced in January-April 2006.

In April, 2007, the oil production from Chiragh made up 567,000 tons versus 617,176 tons of oil produced in April 2006. In April 2007, the oil production from Azeri reached 2,034,000 tons against 1,094,000 tons produced in April, 2006.

Notably, AIOC produced 23,260,000 tons of crude branded Azeri Light on the contract area (ACG). This figure is on 13,074,000 tons more against the corresponding figure registered in 2005. In 2006, the oil production from the Chiragh Deposit was 6,977,000 tons of oil against 7,028,000 tons produced in 2005. In 2006, the oil production from the Azeri Field reached 16,283,000 tons versus 6,109,000 tons produced in 2005.
