Expenditure of Gas in Azerbaijan Decreases

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Aliyev / In the first quarter of 2007 the expenditure of gas in Azerbaijan equaled 3.2 bln cu.m, a decrease of 15.7% for the same period of the last year, the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reported.

Of this figure, 82.8% was consumed within Country, 5% was a loss, 0.9% was exported and 11.3 made up the balance for the end of March. 46.1% of the gas was used by industrial enterprises, 32% was sold to the population and 4.7% was spent on communal-domestic demands. The volume of gas pumping in underground gas reservoirs totaled 361.5 mln cu.m, an increase of 54.4%.

According to the data of the State Statistics Committee, in the first quarter, the expenditure of mazut equaled 353,300, an increase of 2.3% for the same period of last year. Of this amount, 351.800 tons was for industrial enterprises, 1,400 tons was for transport enterprises and 0,100 tons was for other demands. The expenditure balance of the stone coal in the first quarter made up 1,300 tons, an increase of 2.5 times as compared to the same period of last year.
